Foreigners have been coming to the shores of Japan for centuries, yet it has only been the last decade or two that has seen such an influx of foreigners deciding to stay on. At the same time, patient records are now written out in English. Consequently, nurses today need to learn better English bedside communication skills as well as necessary medical jargon in English.
