Welcome to the English for Nurses Staff Room

English For Nurses was developed to answer a need for text books containing suitable conversations to facilitate bedside communication as well as in outpatients' situations. It also hopes to fill the specific need of nurses to understand the technical jargon that goes with the profession.

It is hoped that these Staff Room pages will become a lively place where teachers can share the many joys of teaching our future nurses or discuss any problems they may have using this or any other text book published on Nursing English.

The authors would like to thank everyone who used "English for Nurses" during 2006, 2007, and 2008. It meant a lot to the authors to write the book, and we had to twist some arms to get our way with publishing, but we'd love to hear from you if you have any suggestions on how to improve on further editions.

From 2009, there is a new book has come available for those who are already working in the wards, or for students who want to take something similar (to "English for Nurses") with them to use on the job. The title is "On the Job English for Medical and Health-care Workers", and it is available at your local bookstore, or via amazon.co.jp.

Many thanks again.
